It's the Chinese New Year on Sunday the 14th of February 2010, so from everyone here at FreeTranslation.com we would like to wish you all Gong hei fat choi, written as 恭喜發財 in traditional Chinese. This loosely translates to "Congratulations and be prosperous" and is usually used as the Chinese new year greeting.

Here are some other translations of Chinese new year greetings you may hear:

Suì suì píng ān (歲歲平安) - "Everlasting peace year after year".
Nián nián yǒu yú (年年有餘) - "Surpluses and bountiful harvests every year".

New Homepage Design for FreeTranslation.com

12/02/2009 10:47:00 AM
Posted by Paul Singh, eMarketing Manager

We’re really excited to launch our new homepage design for FreeTranslation.com. With the new FreeTranslation.com homepage we’ve given it a clean and fresh new look, making it easier to find what you want on the site. We’ve also included new functionality on the site such as the “switch” language feature, “Discuss your translations” with our new Free online language community and “Auto-detect”, where you simply start typing, or paste, your original text and it automatically detects what language you are using and gives you a list of languages you can translate to. You can still access all the great features you love on FreeTranslation.com such as, Special Characters Keyboard, Website Translations and Human Translation.

The best part of the new design is undoubtedly the speed in which you now get your results. Making the translation appear on an adjacent window means that you see your translation almost instantly without the need to reload a new page.A big thank-you to everyone who participated in our survey telling us what you thought of the design. Here are some of things that you said you liked:

“I love the switch feature ! It makes it much easier for me to use”
“The new design is clearer and easier to use.”
“I like the fact that it's all on the same page.”
“Its fantastic......thanx”

But our work doesn’t stop there. You’ve told us of a few things that you would like improved and we’ll try to include these as we continue to develop the site. More features you want are:

“A 'Clear' button to input new sentences.”
“Make the Translation windows bigger.”
“A bigger font in the translation boxes.”

Keep visiting FreeTranslation.com to see how things improve over the coming weeks.

You can now also discuss your translations on our brand new Freetranslation.com Community website. Talk to hundreds of others to help you understand your translated languages better. We have introduced fantastic groups for you to learn a new language and to ask other community members for help with learning a new language. It’s completely FREE to join the new Language Community by FreeTranslation.com and be sure to leave feedback on the forum for more new ideas on how we can make FreeTranslation.com even better for you!
